Our experienced line up of judges for the Good Food Boost will use their expertise to assess applicants and select four winners.
The judges for the 2017 Wellington Good Food Boost are:
Sarah Meikle – Chief Executive, Wellington Culinary Events Trust
Sarah is a highly accomplished marketing and events manager. She is both the Festival Director of Visa Wellington On a Plate and Event Director of Beervana. Prior to her current role, Sarah led the Positively Wellington Tourism marketing team as General Manager, Marketing for seven years. She previously worked for Tourism New Zealand and has broad international tourism experience.
Sarah spends a considerable amount of time working with small food businesses, from small breweries and boutique winemakers to chocolatiers, bakeries, coffee roasteries and even peanut butter producers. She is also a passionate campaigner for telling New Zealand’s food story and advocating for the role that food plays in New Zealand’s culture.
Jo Madden – Business Development Manager, New Zealand Food Innovation Network
Jo is a food technologist with a broad range of experience in the food and beverage industry, having worked for New Zealand manufacturers Simply Squeezed and Wattie’s. She has worked in the areas of new product development, packaging development, label development, regulatory and manufacturing, and understands the challenges faced by food producers today. Jo’s role supports the food and beverage industry, creating network connections, technical solutions and growth opportunities. She works with small start-ups right through to large established manufacturers.
Sarah Adams - Sustainable Food Networks, Wellington City Council
Sarah is passionate about good food, so much so that she has been instrumental in growing Wellington’s community food networks in Wellington over the last decade. She currently works as the Urban Agriculture Advisor for Wellington City Council. Professionally and personally, Sarah strives to support communities, local businesses and Wellington's good food networks toward increased connectivity, knowledge and productivity. She is an avid home fermenter and food grower.
Matt Morrison - All Good Bananas & Karma Cola
Matt’s been part of a range of sustainable business initiatives since 2008. Prior to this he was a Senior Analyst at the Treasury and an officer in the NZ Army. Matt is a co-founder and GM of All Good Bananas and a co-founder of Karma Cola. Matt is also involved with Clean Planet and the Wellington Chocolate Factory.
