The 2010 NZI Sustainable Business Network Awards recognise and reward New Zealand businesses that demonstrate extraordinary leadership, vision and integrity.
"When Wellington Zoo Trust won the 2009 Central/Southern Sustainable Business of the Year Award and also the Not for Profit Category last year at the Sustainable Business Network Regional Awards and then the NZI National People's Choice Award, it was like winning the Oscars!
We had entered the Get Sustainable Challenge the year before but we did not win an award. We were determined to win our category the next year! The Get Sustainable Challenge gave us the framework to improve our sustainability achievements and build the culture in our organisation that supports our sustainability work.
