GreenFleet is a practical support based programme developed by the Sustainable Business Network that encourages businesses to actively reduce both the costs and associated harmful impacts of transportation.

Changing behaviours around fleet management and vehicle use have triple benefits – resulting in improved financial, environmental, social (particularly health related) outcomes.

GreenFleet is run as an annual membership programme. Members receive:

• Support in improving vehicle efficiency – including a downloadable copy of ‘Drive to Thrive’ resource
• Latest information on best practice in sustainable transport through regular workshops and seminars
• Organised tree planting - by sponsoring the planting of 23 native trees per company vehicle per year, members help to reduce greenhouse gases, control erosion and support New Zealand’s biodiversity
• Hands-on tree planting – members can sign up for tree planting days and get their hands dirty, experience team building, and demonstrate real support towards a local community initiative.
• Regular news via a quarterly email newsletter “On the Move"
• Tailored, subsidised, support in developing your own business travel planning or fleetcheck from our GreenFleet manager.

The Sustainable Business Network, on behalf of business, also campaigns for better standards and quality of vehicles and fuels, and work with suppliers to encourage the growth of cleaner fuels and vehicles.
