Get your energy sust with a $1000 Grant

An energy audit will help you improve the bottom line and build your brand's environmental credibility by

  • evaluating how efficiently your energy is being used
  • identifying energy and cost-saving opportunities
  • highlighting potential improvements in energy use 

What is the process?

  • Contact Sarah Munro sarah@sustainable.org.nz to check that your business meets the criteria for this grant
  • We will help you find a local qualified energy auditor to provide an audit quote. If you decide to proceed from there the auditor will conduct a full audit and supply an audit report.
  • Draw up an action plan demonstrating how you will implement the audit's recommendations.
  • When we receive your action plan, audit report, and copy of your receipt, we will reimburse you $1000.

What does the audit grant commit me to?

The audit will identify energy-saving opportunities for your business.  These projects will vary in cost and therefore payback period and ease of implementation. Remember the more energy you save, the greater the improvement to your bottom line and to your environmental credibility.

Am I eligible for the grant?

To be eligible for the grant, your business must: 

  • Employ less than 50 staff.
  • Be prepared to pay the cost of the audit up front; for many SMEs this may start at $3000.
  • Commit to undertake the changes recommended in the action plan at your own pace.
  • Be prepared for SBN and EECA to promote your audit and action plan as a case study for other businesses.
  • Be one of the first 10 to apply for the audit grant.
