Switching to solar with Vector.
The ethos underpinning Vector’s Home Solar Pilot Programme is “forget what you think you know about solar”. Vector asked consumers what they perceived to be the obstacles to adopting solar power, and has created a programme to address these concerns.
Many customers were concerned about the initial start-up costs associated with solar power, so Vector has created a payment solution with a minimal start-up cost and a fixed low monthly payment. The programme also provides customers with the reassurances as to supply in that Vector owns, monitors, manages and maintains the system for the customer; effectively, the customer can “set and forget”.
Other developments include an integrated battery that stores energy for use during the evenings (the time when most household electricity usage peaks) and for unexpected grid outages, and the ability to automatically switch between solar power from the roof, stored solar power in the battery and electricity in the grid. By undertaking market research as to why customers were reluctant to adopt what is a cost-effective and smart source of power, Vector has been able to provide a programme that means there are more reasons than ever to switch to solar.
