AMP Capital offers New Zealand investors a range of responsible investment funds to direct money towards sectors, industries and companies making a positive impact on the environment and society, and away from those that cause harm. We use our leading Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) investment framework across our investment options with the aim of generating highly competitive returns for investors. AMP Capital was instrumental in establishing the Investor Group on Climate Change (IGCC), which raises awareness of the implications of climate change for the investment industry. We also encourages government/ governance policies and investment practices that address the risks and help realise the opportunities of adequate, large-scale responses to climate change. AMP Capital is also steadily reducing its use of resources and carbon footprint through energy efficiency measures, waste recycling, encouraging more sustainable work practices and purchasing carbon credits. We became carbon neutral in 2013 – a year earlier than planned – with further reduction targets set for 2016.

AMP Capital is a leading global investment house managing over $172 billion in funds, including $20 billion on behalf of New Zealand investors. We have specialist expertise in responsible investment, fixed income, equities, property, infrastructure and multi-asset solutions. As a majority owned subsidiary of AMP, AMP Capital operates independently with a pure investment focus but benefits from the resources of our parent company. We offer global reach, with talented and experienced investment professionals on the ground in major markets, sourcing and managing investment opportunities for investors.

Our core business is investment management, and we use our investment expertise, extensive global network and strong reputation to develop the best specialist investment opportunities for our clients. Our experience and leadership across asset classes not only provides insights into ever-changing markets, but means we are at the forefront of developing contemporary investment solutions for clients.

AMP Capital is one of the longest standing managers of specialist responsible investment funds in Australasia. With a track record of over 10 years, we were one of the first managers to genuinely integrate Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) research across the investments we manage. In 2007 we reinforced our commitment to incorporating ESG issues into our investment decisions by signing up to the United Nations-backed Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI). These principles aim to provide an internationally agreed framework to help institutional investors incorporate ESG issues into investment decision making and ownership practices.

We offer five responsible investment funds through our Responsible Investment Leaders (RIL) suite, including equity and diversified portfolios. The RIL funds have been independently certified under the Responsible Investment Association Australasia (RIAA) Responsible Investment Certification Programme. This programme helps investors by providing standardised and consistent information about certified responsible investment products, services and policies. The Certification Symbol signifies that an investment product, service or policy takes environmental, social, governance or ethical considerations into account along with financial returns.
