Auckland University of Technology was established in 2000 and is now one of New Zealand's leading universities having graduated 25,000 students with undergraduate and post graduate degrees and grown its total enrolments to more than 19,000 students.
AUT is New Zealand’s newest university; however our history in education is over 110 years old. AUT provides education and research under the following five faculties:

Certifications & sustainability programmes
AUT’s Business School has been accepted into the Principles of Responsible Management Education (PRME) and is committed to use the PRME six principles as a guiding framework to integrate corporate responsibility and sustainability in a gradual but systematic manner. AUT is also taking steps to become a Fairtrade accredited university.
In 2013 AUT was awarded the following:
* Highly Commended in the Carbon Reduction category of the Australasian Green Gown awards – an awards ceremony specifically for tertiary institutions to showcase their sustainability successes;
* Winner of the Mega Efficiency – Impact category of the 2013 NZI Sustainable Business Network awards; and
* Judges’ Commendation in the Energy Management category of the 2013 NZI Sustainable Business Network awards.
AUT has also been named as a finalist in the Public Sector category in the 2014 EECA awards.
AUT Business School’s Sustainable Enterprise major, part of the Bachelor of Business Studies, is the first of its kind in New Zealand. It takes an innovative approach to teaching by teaching through cycles of action and reflection.Read more
