CSC Buying Group is a social enterprise that pulls together the combined purchasing power of members to negotiate discounts across 30 categories of everyday business expenditure. This reduces costs of SME's making them more financially sustainable.

SMEs are the backbone of the NZ economy and play a major part in the wealth, employment and overall well being of our communities

CSC is also a charitable trust that distributes its profits to a range of causes (eg teaching kids to cook, chef apprenticeships, camping, disability, disaster relief and community programmes).

What or how does your business contribute to a more sustainable NZ?

We create richer communities. Our values are "people over transactions" and this is embedded in all we do.

We partner with causes with groups that we support. These groups promote CSC to their membership and in return we share any income earned through sales to their members (NZ Disability Support Network, RSA, Christian Camping)

We are only a small organisation however our employment practices support our communities. We offer part time positions with hours flexible around family commitments. We employed a man with an intellectual disability. Staff are also supported to contribute to external organisations trustee on a charitable student hostel, a Christian camp and on advisory committees at the DHB that focus on disability and community health.

We actively share our knowledge with groups. Currently we are providing workshops around the country to help camps prepare for the new Food Act requirements. We have also presented on Strategic Procurement for Social Good.

As with most organisations we also have an active Corporate Social Responsibility Program. This includes delivering free firewood within our local community, annual sponsorship of the Special Needs Children's Christmas Party, Paralympics and many other donations.
