Eco Stock Supplies Ltd.
Eco Stock Supplies Ltd is an innovative business making a difference in food waste recycling and minimisation. We recycle food waste from industrial food manufacturers, supermarkets and food importers predominantly by turning it into animal feed.
Our primary activity is collecting pre-consumer food waste from processors, retailers, importers, and transport companies, and instead of going to landfill, processing the food waste into high-quality stock food at our plant in South Auckland.
Eco Stock Supplies currently collects from the upper North Island but can receive from anywhere in New Zealand. In the past 12 months, we have diverted over 35,000 tonnes of food waste from landfill.
To support this, we employ 35 staff and run 7 trucks, and manage a processing and de-packing facility in Auckland capable of handling over 500 pallet equivalents a day.
We are constantly looking to innovate in our collection services and de-packing and processing operations to minimise and recover waste for measurable environmental benefits.
Our WormsRus business seeks to minimise food waste by advocating for the benefits of worm farming with Councils, businesses and schools and the general public. This is supported by the sale of worms, worm castings, worm farms and bokashi composting systems.
In 2013 we won the University of Auckland’s Entrepreneurs Challenge.
