What or how does your business contribute to a more sustainable NZ?

The Equal Employment Opportunities (EEO) Trust provides diversity and inclusion related information, research, tools, training and advice to employers. We also raise awareness of diversity issues and success stories in New Zealand workplaces. We are not-for-profit and jointly funded by the New Zealand government and our member organisations.

About half of us are women, our population is ageing, a quarter of us have a disability of some type, we have 213 ethnicities living in here - in Auckland 40 per cent of us were born overseas, so building a diverse and inclusive workplace is a key sustainable practice. In the future, for an organisation to draw on a larger talent pool, better represent its customer base, drive innovative thinking, foster increased engagement and productivity it needs to work on recruiting, supporting, developing and promoting more women, wider ethnic representation, younger and older people, people from the LGBTQI community, and people with diverse-abilities. The EEO Trust assists organisations at all stages of their diversity and inclusion journey.
