What we do
Recycle A Device accepts donations of laptops that are less than 10 years old that come with a charger. We work alongside each individual donor, and their pre-existing end of life processes, to make the donation process as easy as possible. We provide follow up reporting which can be used for internal and external communications and PR and sustainability and CSR reporting.
How we can help you to go circular
Recycle A Device offers the opportunity to do good by finding a new use for outdated fleet devices. We make it as simple and pain free as possible to do so. It can take a lot of time and effort to get the money these assets are worth if selling them to an IT recycler, or setting up an in-house system to donate them to the community. Working with Recycle A Device can reduce IT labour costs for asset cleaning and data security on waste devices.
Digital Future Aotearoa (of which Recycle A Device is one programme) is non profit and we only work within Aotearoa New Zealand, meaning you know your donation will not be sold for profit or sent overseas. Our main difference to other organisations is that we work with students on refurbishing devices. These students gain skills and future pathways, not just in technology, but in leadership, teamwork, problem solving and more.
Previous donors include Kiwibank, Spark, New Zealand Trade and Enterprise, Microsoft, Foodstuffs, the Department of Internal Affairs, Cook Brothers Construction, Silver Fern Farms, InternetNZ and more.
