What we do
We were the first company in the world to create technology for low cost, high-quality biographite anode material for lithium-ion batteries made from renewable wood biomass feedstock. Our biographite is engineered specifically for electric vehicle (EV) batteries. It is created using wood chips from the renewable forestry industry in a carbon negative process. Our sustainably engineered biographite technology can be localised anywhere feedstock is available – making biographite accessible and affordable for all.
How we can help you to go circular
CarbonScape is a bioeconomy company based in Aotearoa New Zealand and expanding in Europe and North America. By decarbonising and derisking the graphite supply chain, our pioneering deep-tech business plays a crucial role in accelerating the global transition to clean energy and electric mobility. We have been running a pilot plant in Blenheim, New Zealand since 2018 and are currently designing and financing a much larger demonstration plant in Europe – having secured investment from one of the world’s leading battery producers, ATL, and one of the largest forestry owner’s, Stora Enso.
