What we do
Textile waste is one of Aotearoa New Zealand’s fastest growing waste streams with more than 220,000 tonnes ending up in landfills each year. Businesses are facing increasing expectations to take more responsibility for what they bring to market. The Textile Reuse Programme is an industry leadership group driving large scale, collaborative projects. The group creates new technologies and solutions to radically reduce the environmental impacts of what we wear.
How we can help you to go circular
The Textile Reuse Programme offers members an integrated industry-wide system where we share learnings and co-design the outputs. We advocate to government on behalf of industry. Collaboration helps us achieve scale, impact and efficiencies. The Programme is for any business or organisation that produces, supplies or uses clothing or textiles and wants to make a difference. We help: reduce waste and carbon emissions; ensure long term sustainability and profitability through optimal resource management; reduce risk and meet stakeholder and customer expectations; decarbonise operations and meet national and international climate targets; front foot policy and regulation changes; and, perhaps most importantly of all, help turn used clothing and textiles into valued, useful products.
