How do I put together a sustainability strategy?
If you want to make sustainability an integral part of your business, you need to identify your key sustainability issues and develop a sustainability strategy. You can do this as part of a step-by-step process.

How can I get advice?
If you have a tricky sustainability question, it’s free for Sustainable Business Network members to ask an expert. Adviceline provides expert advice from some of New Zealand’s top sustainability experts. They can provide answers to your questions and help source the information you need.

How can I find out how sustainable my business is?
Get Sust Online is a quick and easy online sustainability assessment tool, for businesses of any type or size. You can gauge where you are up to, download valuable resources, benchmark yourself against other businesses and measure progress in five key areas. It’s free for SBN members to use.
How can I do a comprehensive analysis of my business’ sustainability performance?
Utilise our Advisory Services and undergo a sustainability review. The review identifies your organisation’s current level of sustainability maturity. It takes a sustainability lens across your whole organisation outlining where you are doing well and where there is room for improvement. A report provides key topline recommendations on actionable next steps.
How can I learn and network?
You can find out about dozens of sustainable business events taking place around New Zealand every month on our Events page. These include learning and networking events organised by SBN, our members and our partners. You can search by region to find events in your own area.
How can I measure emissions?
You can estimate your greenhouse gas emissions using the Annual Carbon Emissions (ACE) calculator, designed by CATALYST Ltd. It’s a simple tool that is free to use.
Where can I find sustainable products and services?
The Sustainable Business Directory makes it fast and easy to search and select suppliers in your area committed to being more sustainable. You can choose from hundreds of providers to quickly green your supply chain – from waste consultants to wineries, IT to insurance. Discover products, services, certifications and programme providers nationwide. You can search by location, key word or category.
What are the key issues for New Zealand?

You can share your sustainability success story by entering the NZI National Sustainable Business Network Awards. These are the pre-eminent and longest-standing sustainable business awards in New Zealand. Entries open every year in July.
