Fairtrade Australia New Zealand works directly with businesses to ensure their supply chains are environmentally sustainable and offer a fair deal for smallholder farmers, workers and communities worldwide.
Sustainability Highlights: Smart Procurement-Supply ChainsSustainability Actions:
Fairtrade is about fair and sustainable livelihoods for farmers, workers, and their communities. When you see a product that carries the Fairtrade Mark, it means that everyone from producers to manufacturers have been independently audited against Fairtrade Standards.
The Fairtrade Standards ensure that farmers and workers get better prices, training on environmental sustainability and decent working conditions. It’s not just the fair price and environmental standards that make Fairtrade unique, it’s the Fairtrade Premium too.
The Fairtrade Premium is an additional investment that farmer organisations democratically invest in their communities’ needs such as healthcare facilities, children's education, and access to water. These are just some of the ways that Fairtrade contributes to a better world for all.
