- Profile
Why Waste is a socio-ecological enterprise that applies circular economics to vermi-composting (worm farming).
Our subscription members are feeding their organic waste to worms instead of sending it to landfill, transforming their organic waste into rich, fertile soil. After establishing a well supported service in the Bay of Plenty, Why Waste is developing a nationwide network of managed worm farms under subscription in 2020.
The post-covid recovery provides us with a unique opportunity to nurture decentralised solutions that aren’t reliant on carbon to take waste to an ‘away place’ – Why Waste Worms goes beyond sustainability to minimise waste, build soil, and increase community resilience.
Why Waste also provides Zero Waste at events such as the Iron Man, and the Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge, as well as offering a ‘Beyond Sustainability’ consultancy.
Check out our website for more information, registration as well as case studies for business and for home.
