The role of regenerative agriculture in meeting textile industry climate targets
Mindful Fashion NZ announces its event partnership with Textile Exchange, bringing Climate+ Stories from The Field to New Zealand as part of its work to drive uptake of better materials in the local industry.
Under the Climate+ strategic direction, Textile Exchange are the driving force for urgent climate action with a goal of 45% reduced CO2 emissions from textile fibre and material production by 2030.
While we can all understand the need for this strategy, and the overall target for the industry, it’s not always easy to see how this will work in practice at the raw material production level.
This in person event gives an opportunity to hear from a wool grower whose farm is not only
certified to the Responsible Wool Standard but is also engaged with the New Zealand Merino ZQRX regenerative program.
All are welcome to join Mindful Fashion for a morning of learning about regenerative agricultures potential to unlock climate goals with New Zealand Merino, and an opportunity to meet one-on-one with global and local Textile Exchange team members:
• Hanna Denes, Climate+ Impact Strategy Manager, Textile Exchange
• Rui Fontoura, Fiber & Materials Strategy Lead - Cotton, Textile Exchange
• Anna Heaton, Fiber & Materials Strategy Lead - Animal Materials, Textile Exchange
• Valentina Zarew, Oceania Ambassador & Strategist, Textile Exchange\
