With the support from our Investors, including 5% of each annual fee, we help them fund the replanting of rivers, streams and lakes with native plants and trees. Many Million Metres Projects are also directly backed by donations and partnerships with our Investors.
Regenerating our waterways is a vital way to re-establish native plants and animals in our landscapes. It helps to improve water quality, and it’s another step towards tackling climate change.
The global pandemic has made this year an uncertain one in so many ways. It has left projects like Million Metres in urgent need of help. Without more support they won’t get all their plants and trees into the ground in the coming winter.
Many individuals and businesses use the end of their financial year as an opportunity to give something back.
If that’s you, we would love you to be a hero and donate to the rejuvenation of Otago’s iconic Cardrona Valley.
The Cardrona Kaitiaki project has only $4,700 to go, but time is running out!
Along the Cardrona River, its tributaries and in the wider Upper Clutha catchment, local conservation group Wai Wanaka is working to plant 6,000 native plants and trees. They need to raise $4,700 in the next few weeks to ensure they can get the job done.
Can you find something to chip in?
Any amount, big or small, will be a real boost to their efforts.
And to celebrate Sea Week we’re offering the chance to win one of four family passes to Sea Life Kelly Tarlton’s in Auckland when we emerge from lockdown. Everyone who donates to any Million Metres project before March 14 can go in the draw.
Thank you for your support!
