We are Circularity.
We are an impact-led circular design and transformation partner helping unlock a better way of doing business. We help you tackle the problems of waste, emissions and environmental degradation using circular principles –
We design waste out
We keep materials inflow and in use -considering the full lifecycle of your products
We regenerate the living systems both human and planetary.
We work with your leadership team, your staff, communities and customers to make you future vision a reality.
Our vision for Aotearoa is a Circular Economy – with more regenerative ways of working, living and creating.
How do we get there? We design it together.
As an agile, transformation partner, we use our circular by design methods to reduce the environmental impacts of business as usual and unlock innovation across a range of industries and opportunities through a practitioner approach that empowers others to ‘learn by doing’. This increases the success rate and delivers new value across social, environmental and economic measures.
We have done this for ecostore through our circular design days – embedding circular knowledge across their staff, developing a five-year circular product development roadmap and ultimately supporting their vision to design + implement a closed-loop packaging system (Product stewardship) across 100 locations.
“Working with Circularity we were able to take a step back, assess our current status and look at ways to innovate and improve. A great facilitator with excellent knowledge of the circular economy and the various ways to approach problems or opportunities from a circular perspective. I have no doubt that the spark created from this day will help shift ecostore into its next innovation.” Pablo Kraus, CEO, Ecostore
We are designing out waste and emissions at scale working with Architecture Profiles Limited supply chain with over 10 businesses in the aluminium window and door industry.
“I want to be able to reflect and say that we’ve continued to help the New Zealand building industry in a really positive way – to reduce our waste to landfill, to innovate better ways, and to have upheld our social responsibility. We have the ability to initiate change where many others cannot, we can create progress that makes it accessible for more.” Mikayla Plaw, GM Organisational Development & Sustainability APL/PGL.
We are designing a circular, regenerative mountain resort for Cardrona and Treble Cone.
“Circularity have been incredible guides on our journey towards a new, regenerative, future. We have never been short of ideas and enthusiasm and now combined with the expertise provided by Circularity we are on a path which is brighter and restorative. And we are now fired up and ready to go! The kick-off session was really well structured and included our team at every stage. We really enjoyed learning and sharing in an environment that promoted participation. We are only just beginning to digest the playbook and look forward to the shape that it will give us as we push towards carbon zero.” Ewan Mackie, Head of Operations Cardrona + Trebel Cone
We support councils and industries with our sector report such as the Assessment of the circular opportunity for the Aquaculture industry in the Bay of Plenty.
And we bring all of this together through XLabs – New Zealand’s first circular economy lab. In partnership with Auckland Unlimited (formerly Auckland Tourism Events and Economic Development). In 2020 this innovative program brought together 18 teams from organisations such as The Warehouse Group, Fletcher Building, HEB Construction, Crunch & Flourish, Centrality, The Recreators, Bobux, Auckland Transport, Haka Tourism, Good Space, Advance Floating Platforms and EV Maritime. They started with a linear challenge, connected with experts & solutions to bring forth a circular solution for their business, industry and communities.
“We can see that in the future Auckland will be viewed as a leader in circular economy practice, thanks to the work of Louise, the team at ATEED and these 18 companies that are launching the (XLabs) program.” Pam Ford, General Manager at Auckland Unlimited.
