    At GoodSense, we only use marketing as a force for good.  Our purpose is to use marketing to help grow a healthier, fairer, zero-carbon NZ.

    We work with organisations whose products or services benefit nature or people, as well as their bottom line. Our clients are part of the solution, not the problem.

    GoodSense works to foster best practice in green marketing in Aotearoa NZ. We do this by speaking at events, hosting workshops, commenting in the media and using social media to discuss what succeeds and what fails.

    As champions of ethical marketing and challengers of greenwash, we're proud to have been finalists in the 2013 NZI National Sustainable Business Network Awards for our critique of Dole's 'Ethical Choice' promotion and to have supported the Advertising Standards Authority to develop their new Environmental Claims code.

    As well as maximising our handprint, we are on an ongoing path to minimise our footprint, challenging industry norms by remote-working and making the best use we can of technology to communicate.

    And we're fussy who we'll work with, using our finite availability to help the good guys - sustainable businesses, 'light' exporters, social enterprises and not for profits - to succeed.

    We make the most of 21st technology to deliver great client service and flexible working with minimal travel. Our team operate from a network of home offices connected by a cloud-based phone system, video conferencing and a secure social network/intranet for document sharing and communication. This approach supports the quality of life of our team members and minimises our use of space and pointless travel.

    In our procurement we choose carefully and seek function over fashion. As Directors, we do our best to spend our dollars well – from ink-efficient white board markers, to durable technology – and we are working on guidelines for our freelance team.

    We plan diaries and trips to make the most of any fossil fuel we burn and use public transport and cycle when we can. We are tracking our owners’ car use and flights and plan to offset what we can’t avoid.
