Green Cabs is New Zealand’s Environmentally Friendly Taxi Company.
In the immortal words of John Lennon, Imagine all the people travelling in zero emission taxis and planting trees along the way. Well OK, John never said that but we like to think he might have had he been around to take a Green Cab.
Our vision is about helping to create a better world.
Whether it’s providing a green option with low fares and great service or planting trees in countries around the world who need trees. Either way we think the world will be a better place for it and by you choosing to take a Green Cab when you need a taxi you are helping to create a better world too.
It costs a lot less to go Green!!!
Because our cars cost a lot less to run than your average taxi, our rates are also less than many of our competitors. So not only will you get a safe, quiet comfortable ride when you take a Green Cab you’ll have a bit more money left in your pocket at the end of your journey.
Talk to us about our account holder rates and save even more!!!
- To act with integrity in everything we do.
- To innovate and find new and better ways of doing things.
- To be a breath of fresh air
- To listen – we want to hear about your Green Cabs experience (good or bad) after all, it helps us continually improve our service to you.
- To have passion in what we do. How can we not be passionate about helping to make a better world to live in?
Green Cabs provides a quick, clean, safe, reliable service at a price less than many of our competitors. After all our cars are cheaper to run so why wouldn’t we pass those savings onto you?
Here at Green Cabs our fleet is made up of Hybrids and low emission common rail diesels. As good as they sound you won’t find any V8s in the Green Cabs fleet. We are constantly keeping an eye on emerging technologies to take advantage of cleaner and greener options when they become available.
We think our drivers are the Friendliest in the business.
Our drivers are the face of Green Cabs and we are very proud of the work they do in keeping you moving. All our drivers are police checked and have good area knowledge.
If your experience with one of our drivers is not up to your expectations please get in
contact with us and let us know. Likewise if your driver is fantastic and you have the time, we’d love to hear from you also. We welcome your feedback.
Here at Green Cabs we plant trees to help offset the impact our operation and our fleet has on the environment.
Green Cabs have been partnered with Trees for the Future since we started back in 2007.
We think that anyone who plants trees for 10c a tree should get as much support as we can give them. So when you take a ride in a Green Cab you can take comfort in the fact that you are helping to reforest the planet and improve people’s lives.

We also support Trees for Survival, a New Zealand based environmental education programme which involves young people growing and planting native trees to help landowners revegetate erosion prone land, improve stream flow and water quality and increase biodiversity.
This is a new venture for Green Cabs and we cannot wait to see what the future brings with this partnership.

Green Cabs plants trees monthly with both Trees for the Future and Trees for Survival, around the world and around New Zealand. Our fleets across the country run only on low emission vehicles. We offer discounts and emission monitoring for our account holders to help them track how many emissions they have saved and how many trees they have planted.
