Million Metres Coordinator
Alaina works closely with field partners, community groups and landowners to fundraise for stream planting projects. She moved to New Zealand from her home town of Portland, Oregon (USA) in 2014. She is impressed by the knowledgeable, passionate people working to restore New Zealand waterways and native bush.
Alaina has a bachelors’ degree in Environmental Studies and Spanish. She brings 6.5 years of experience working with rural communities to promote a healthy economy, communities and the environment at the non-profit Sustainable Northwest (Portland, OR). Other previous roles include working at the Ministry of Transport in Wellington and the Ecosystem Workforce Program (Eugene, OR).
Outside of work, Alaina enjoys exploring her new home, gardening, connecting with friends and family and playing Ultimate Frisbee.
