This award, sponsored by WSP Opus, will be presented to an organisation that is moving New Zealand’s transport or tourism to renewables, using clever design, new technology or behaviour change.
We need a revolution in transport away from fossil fuels and towards low carbon, efficient and people-focused transport solutions. This could involve clever design, new technology or behaviour change. It includes avoiding travel (e.g. working from home or utilising technology solutions), shifting to lower impact transport modes (e.g. public transport or car sharing) and improving existing transport modes (e.g. electric vehicles).
This award will be presented to an organisation that is moving New Zealand’s transport or tourism to renewables (low carbon).

We asked WSP Opus what inspired them to sponsor the NZI Sustainable Business Network Awards:
“At WSP Opus, we take a human-centred approach to getting cities and communities ready for the future.
“We’re not led by technology, instead we see it as a means to help a city to face its challenges whether these are congestion, access or connectivity, a desire to stimulate more active travel for health benefits, greening the city or re-purposing space and infrastructure. Smart mobility transforms transportation systems, using technology as a catalyst, to achieve sustainable, equitable, efficient and resilient outcomes that support cities as they change, grow and compete for talent.”
