Ata Touch is a human-centred technology that improves electrical efficiency in New Zealand homes. Its primary purposes are energy efficiency, affordability, and user ease.
The technology encourages homes to use only electricity, minimise usage and schedule usage. It provides substantial power savings at a reasonable cost, and focuses on heating/cooling, water heating and lighting.
Ata Touch enables domestic water heating and climate control from a single heat pump. This provides up to 66% power savings on hot water heating compared to using the electric element in a hot water cylinder, and heating or cooling via a standard heat pump.
The home climate control provides split unit control and scheduled room by room control. This results in further energy savings and customised comfort.
TCS, an industrial process control company, started Ata Touch in 2010 and there are now more than 100 installations in New Zealand.
