Kiwi Community Assistance Charitable Trust provides a one-stop distribution hub for food and non-food items. It uses existing community networks to maximise efficiencies and deliver the greatest benefits to communities.
The Trust distributes used clothing, household goods, furniture and whiteware as well as fresh, frozen and non-perishable food items. It is almost entirely run by volunteers. It also provides opportunities for job seekers to develop work skills.
Each year the Trust helps around 40,000 people. It helps reduce food waste and distributes usable food to community groups through collaborating with other food rescue organisations. It distributes donations of quality used goods through its partnering agencies. This allows those agencies to focus on helping their clients, rather than sourcing the resources they need.
