Million Metres Planting Day – Whāngārei Falls

Help take care of New Zealand’s waterways! Million Metres is stoked to invite you along to a planting day on a tributary of Whāngārei Falls, co-hosted with our Foundation Partner, Alsco.

Grab your gumboots and enjoy a morning out in nature helping restore this local waterway.

Led by the awesome people from Whitebait Connection, we’ll be getting stuck in planting native plants and trees. These will add to those that have already been planted along the stream.

The stream is a tributary of the Hātea River which is directly upstream of Whāngārei Falls. Planting will help improve water quality in the Falls which are a very popular swimming spot for locals and tourists. Your contribution will help make a real difference – thank you!

The day will finish up with a shared barbeque provided by Alsco.

*Limited capacity so please ensure you register.

**Please be advised the rain date for this planting day is 13th July. In the event we need to move to the rain date, we will contact you on Friday 5th July to let you know.
