Shout Out!!! A lunchtime event about the Circular Economy Office

Sustainable Business Network is excited to host a series showcasing our amazing members. Through five-minute pitches, we hear about what makes their business an exemplar of sustainable practice; how their service or product stands out within a low-carbon framework; or how they are transitioning to set the sustainable gold standard in their field. Join us to find out more about their businesses and ask them questions!

Have you ever needed to get rid of your office furniture, or were looking to buy good used furniture, instead of new? Join us to hear about how both Junk Run and George Walkers help keep good condition reusable items in a circular system!

Our first speaker is Fionna Gotts, CEO of award-winning sustainable waste management company Junk Run. She will be presenting on how Junk Run collects waste materials from its customers and transform them into resources by redistributing them for reuse or recycling, through innovation and sector collaboration, maximising redistribution by helping to build resource recovery networks and by supporting community organisations, charities, collectors, artisans and enthusiasts.

Junk Run sends junk to a better place, and is committed to honouring the intrinsic value of all materials, moving them back into the community wherever possible.

Our next speaker is Michelle Maitland, Director of George Walkers Office Furniture. From her foray into used items as an auctioneer 30 years ago, Michelle Maitland has transformed George Walkers Office Furniture from bankrupt company into second-hand megastore. George Walkers has rescued thousands and thousands of pieces of office furniture from being thrown out, keeping them in a reuse loop.
