Fairtrade Campaign
Is your business fair?

It’s important to staff, consumers and all of us that we’re doing good with the way we live. Our office (or home office) kitchen is an easy place to make that commitment known and to make a difference in the lives of farmers and workers around the world.

By making the switch to being a Fairtrade Supporting Workplace, you’re telling your team, your clients and associates that you support an environmentally responsible and socially just world. Its leadership in its simplest form.

But what is Fairtrade

Fairtrade empowers millions of farmers and workers around the world by tackling poverty and poor working conditions, as well as conserving the environment.

It’s hope for a better future by making trade fair.

So who are we talking about? It’s farmers and workers growing crops and producing raw materials, their children, families and their wider community. Fairtrade can mean education for their kids, clean drinking water at the factory or investment back into their business.

People and planet

Fairtrade helps people achieve financial security and obtain more power at the negotiating table, making them less vulnerable to poverty. The Fairtrade Premium enables farmers to invest in strengthening their businesses, improving their local communities and to plan for the future.

Fairtrade’s work is about being fair to the planet too. We must recognise in the face of a changing climate and increased deforestation that sustainability and regeneration is key. Fairtrade supports farmers in tackling these issues and recommends strategies that can be adopted to enhance sustainable land management practices. Fairtrade is also a strong advocate for organic farming and today 52 percent of all Fairtrade producer organisations are certified organic.

Fairtrade Standards also regulate substances used in farming, including pesticides and other chemicals, while waste management is a vital concern in the mission to care for the natural world.

What can you do?

What’s the first thing you do when you get into work? Make a coffee? Perhaps tea is more your thing.

This simple act of choosing Fairtrade can have a profound impact on the lives of farmers and workers around the world. It boils down to choice, and connecting the dots between the farmer and the products in your workplace kitchen.

By choosing Fairtrade products, you’re telling your team, your clients and associates that you support an environmentally responsible and socially just world. Its leadership in its simplest form.
