Reducing your waste

Aotearoa New Zealand is among the highest generators of waste per capita in the developed world. In 2018, we sent 3.7 million tonnes of waste to municipal landfills. Designing out waste and using resources more efficiently will reduce costs, green house gas emissions, the need for virgin raw materials. This in turn will benefit the economy, biodiversity and the fight against climate change. (INSERT data on the carbon emissions that come from waste to landfill). Businesses are calling this a a circular approach, ensuring all resources stay 'in the loop' being re-used, re-purposed or recycled as long as possible.
