The SBN Pledge

The SBN Pledge is a sustainability commitment we ask all our members to make each year.

We want to show the contribution our members make so Aotearoa can be a great place for people and nature.

The Pledge helps our members identify areas in which they can make a difference. It’s easy to complete and members can commit to as many areas of sustainability as they like. It is intended to complement any other sustainability-related reporting they carry out. Members can select from any of the following topics:

  • Reducing carbon emissions
  • Design, innovation and disruption
  • Clean energy and energy efficiency
  • Smart procurement and supply chains
  • Towards zero waste
  • Good food
  • Smart transport
  • Wellbeing, community and health
  • Clean water
  • The UN Sustainable Development Goals

We also ask our members to indicate how they can support SBN’s own priority projects – the Circular Economy and Water (Million Metres Streams Project and GulfX project).

A range of tools and resources, events and advice is available to help our members achieve their commitments. We also offer a one-on-one, bespoke, expert sustainability Advisory Service.

We check in to see how our members are getting on with their commitments during the year. And at the end of each year we report on the collective impact of our entire network.

A link to complete the Pledge is sent to the key contact for each member organisation at the start of the financial year in April. If you’d like this to be re-sent please contact office@sustainable.org.nz. To view the questions in the Pledge please click here.

Thank you to all our members for completing the Pledge and sharing their commitments with us.

Together we can make a demonstrable impact on restoring Aotearoa!
