NZ Post has a proactive sustainability program and, as a key part of our customers’ and clients’ value chain, we are able to help them achieve their own sustainability goals. Some of our progress and activities include:

Environment

  • Our GHG programme is CEMARS certified
  • Our carbon footprint has been reduced by 18 per cent since 2007
  • We have reduced waste to landfill by 72 per cent and electricity use by 39 per cent since 2009
  • We have set up the ‘Backtrack your Trackpak’ scheme where business customers can collect their used Trackpaks which our Couriers collect and recycle free of charge.

Societal

  • All employees get a day of volunteer leave per year
  • We are working with community partners to upcycle corporate uniforms
  • We have been working with the Ākina Foundation since 2012, who aim to grow the next generation of social enterprise in New Zealand. Our partnership is centered on creating a sustainable, inclusive and prosperous New Zealand.
