Nature is in trouble.
Right now, more than 4,000 species are threatened or at
risk of extinction in Aotearoa
New Zealand.
The health of our landscapes, waterways and seas has declined dramatically in recent decades.
We need to significantly scale up the investment in on-the-ground nature projects if we are to reverse this trend.
Business can play a transformative role.
SBN has partnered with more than 70 community, iwi, hapū and landowner-led projects over the past decade. As a result, we are experts in facilitating meaningful partnerships between funders and on-the-ground community nature projects.
Choose to invest in any of the following projects run by our community partners. Your support will not only help regenerate nature, it will strengthen community engagement. Funds received support the costs of native plants, materials and labour. For more information contact Steph Vercoe [email protected]

We help you assess where your business intersects with nature and how to align other business goals. We then match you with an impactful on-the-ground project. This helps deliver multiple benefits such as environmental and social outcomes, support with meeting climate goals and avoiding greenwashing risks.
Our selection process for projects is built on long-standing relationships with landowners, iwi and hapū, communities and local agencies.
We provide regular reports and impact data to investors. We also create opportunities for you and your staff to get involved in these projects by volunteering time or donating resources.
Support a leading community regeneration project in South Auckland. This catchment-wide project employs and upskills local rangatahi, uplifts Maatauranga Maaori and connects with local businesses to support regenerative careers. Help regenerate the people, land and waters of Te Puhinui.
Our partnership with SBN's nature programme helps us amplify our environmental and sustainability commitments, drive engagement with our staff and support our wider sustainability vision.

The support provided by SBN allows us to bring the mauri (life essence) and the wairua (spirit) back to our land. We deeply appreciate the funding that allows us to accelerate the kaupapa of enriching the waterways of Aotearoa.
