From guided rides and social meetups to workshops, family-friendly activities and local partner offers, Bike the Bays is all about helping more people get out on their bikes and enjoy the bays in a new way.
The programme celebrates the new and upgraded routes through Kilbirnie and Evans Bay, while making cycling feel more social, accessible and easy to try.
Whether you ride every day, haven’t been on a bike in years, or just want a fun excuse to get outdoors, there’s something here for you. Bring a friend, bring the kids, bring the dog, or come along solo and join the ride.
You don't need to be a cyclist
Bike the Bays is designed to be welcoming for all ages, abilities and bike types. Some events are aimed at building confidence, some are simply about having fun, and many are designed for people who are curious about riding but not quite sure where to start.
What to expect
Across May, you’ll find a mix of guided rides, hands-on workshops, coffee stops, community events and month-long activities that make it easy to get involved in whatever way suits you. Some events are free, some have a small ticket cost, and all are designed to feel friendly, low-pressure and easy to join.
