We realise taking climate action often ends up in the ‘too hard’ basket due to all the other demands of running a business. That’s why we created the Climate Action Toolbox. The free online Toolbox makes it easy for you to create your own emissions reduction plan and includes step-by-step guides.
The Toolbox also includes a free online emissions calculator that will help you to identify the key areas where you can start reducing your carbon footprint.
The calculator uses data from a 12-month period about your energy and fuel use, freight, business travel, waste and more. Most businesses have just reached the end of the financial year so that data should be at your fingertips. That makes now the perfect time to start calculating your footprint.
Once you've entered your data you'll be able to see your total emissions and identify the key areas where they can be reduced.
Here’s what Emah Tippett, Business Manager at ICE Electrical, had to say after using the calculator.
“It's helped us understand the key areas where our emissions come from. It's not just with transport as we originally thought. Emission levels from our office energy use were a real surprise.”
Reducing emissions in key areas can help improve efficiency and save money. Check out what other businesses are doing in the case study section of the Toolbox.
The calculator also helps you set a clear benchmark for monitoring progress year on year. That’s information you can share to help attract and retain staff and customers.
Check out our webinar which explains how to use the calculator along with some of the other features of the Climate Action Toolbox.
And, as we’re now into April, make a resolution for the new financial year to get serious about reducing emissions at your business. Start using the Climate Action Toolbox today.
