Jersey Girl Organics processes organic milk on the farm and sells it directly to people at farmers’ markets and through vending machines in the Bay of Plenty. It refills glass bottles at farmers’ markets and is developing a network of refilling outlets for glass bottles.
Jersey Girl Organics demonstrates sustainable agricultural practices to other farmers and the community. It is in the process of developing a resilient farm system, with a range of strategies such as improving biodiversity. Jersey Girl Organics’ farm has less greenhouse gas emissions and nitrogen leaching than the average New Zealand dairy farm. Most of the fertiliser is from the waste product of another industry and no imported chemicals are used for pesticides and herbicides.
Innovation, taking care of staff, customers, cows and environment are the heart of this business.
