KiwiHarvest rescues good food before it goes to landfill and delivers it to communities in need. There are volunteer opportunities at each of its branches in Auckland, Queenstown, Dunedin and Invercargill. An experience for those wanting to help improve food security and learn about the impact of food waste on our environment. Great for team-building and giving back to the community.
Volunteers are asked to report back on the state of local parks in Auckland to assist in clean-up efforts, as well as educating people on recycling, landfill and food scraps. If you are interested in Zero Waste kaupapa, the Community Recycling Centre is looking for volunteers to help out with customers and much more.
Join one of Waiheke Resource Trust's amazing projects - Love Our Wetlands and help restore the beautiful wetlands and support the community as a volunteer. Their team is planting trees, and maintaining, re-establishing Waiheke’s natural beauty an are always welcoming help from individuals and corporate groups.
Restore Hibiscus & Bays is a community-led initiative supported by the Hibiscus and Bays Local Board, which brings together individuals, community groups and organisations involved in pest eradication, restoration of native habitats and water quality improvements in the local board area.
