New Zealand Food Network prevents good food from going to landfill and redirects it to communities that need it most. Set up to urgently address the growing issue of food insecurity in Aotearoa New Zealand, New Zealand Food Network brings bulk scale, efficiency and equity to the food rescue sector.

Nelson Environment Centre - Kai Rescue
The Kai Rescue programme was established in 2017 with the aim of minimising food waste in our community. Our team collects food from supermarkets, growers, manufacturers and other food outlets that is good enough to eat but is surplus or non-saleable.
