Product stewardship aims to reduce a product’s environmental impact by ‘stewarding’ it throughout its life-cycle.
Often product stewardship involves manufacturers or suppliers providing a ‘take back’ option at the end of the product’s first use life. Increasing the availability and use of product stewardship schemes in the construction sector will reduce the volume of materials wasted and impact the design of products.
