Hot Take: Why blue carbon should be on your radar

Leigh is part of the Healthy Waters Zero Carbon team at Auckland Council responsible for measuring, managing and mitigating the carbon associated with stormwater infrastructure.    Leigh has a legal background and over 19 years’ experience in the environmental sector predominantly in the waste and water sectors. Certified as a Sustainability Associate via the International Society of Sustainability Professionals Leigh is leading work for Healthy Waters to develop blue carbon sequestration sites across the Auckland region.

Olya is a scientist with a passion for all things climate and biodiversity. After completing her studies and working as a research assistant at the Antarctic Research Centre, Olya braved the consulting world with Pattle Delamore Partners, where she found an interest in coastal wetland management and protection. Olya decided to pursue this interest, which pretty quickly turned into a PhD project. These days Olya splits her time between research, consulting and sharing her enthusiasm for nature-based solutions for climate change mitigation and adaptation
