You’re invited to a private screening of Closing the Loop: A Documentary About The Circular Economy Revolution
In partnership with Hutt City Council and generously sponsored by Metal Art/Replas, come along and hear from prominent Wellington businesses front-footing efforts to accelerate the Circular Economy followed by a screening of Closing the Loop.
Going “circular” refers to the necessary change from our current take-make-waste linear economy, to a borrow-use-return circular economy (sometimes also referred to as the zero-waste or cradle-to-cradle economy).
The film is directed by A two-time Telly® Award and Emmy® Award winning filmmaker Graham Sheldon and is presented by global sustainability expert, Prof. Dr Wayne Visser.
In support of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, the documentary explores five key strategies for achieving circularity – reduce, reuse, recycle, renew and reinvent. Five examples from Europe, Latin America and Africa are showcased and feature insights from experts from the World Economic Forum and the Universities of Cambridge and Harvard.
“Unless we go to Circular it’s game over for the planet; it’s game over for society”
Nada Piatek founder of Again Again: Nada will introduce you to the revolutionary cup lending system for zero-waste takeaway coffee that is happening right here in New Zealand.
Carl Longstaff founder of Metal Art : Carl will discuss “The pull through effect” – a creation of consumer education and awareness to stimulate demand for products containing recycled plastics and the role of Government and Councils to champion Procurement.
Enjoy nibbles and Karma Cola. Alcohol is available at the bar at a cost.
