In 2018, Bridget made the decision to take off the High Court gown and put on a necklace. Since then, Bead & Proceed was born. This decision turned her passion for creativity and sustainability into a full-time job.
Bead & Proceed is a social enterprise educating and creatively inspiring action towards the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Bead & Proceed brings people together to make a five-beaded necklace, key ring or bracelet that represents the top five SDGs they want to work towards. While people paint, Bridget facilitates critical discussions about the SDGs and how to take action.
Bead & Proceed Kits follow a one-for-one model: for every Kit purchased, another is donated to a low decile school or deserving community organisation. Her mission is to spread SDG awareness and ensure “no one is left behind”.
Bead & Proceed also delivers facilitated conference packages called “Bead & Proceed Impacts” and workshops called “Bead & Proceed Epics.” The aim is to get businesses to critically and creatively think about where they can have the biggest impact.
With an “act local, think global” mentality, Bridget exercises this through being Chair of her local community board and is a member of the World Economic Forum Global Shapers Community, Asia New Zealand Leadership Network, Global Women and a selected 30 for 2030 UN Women member.
