Patrick Moynahan is the Managing Director of Computer Recycling, Aotearoa New Zealand’s largest e-waste recycling company.
May 2022 marks four years since Patrick purchased the business, expanding the company and its services to include a wide portfolio of e-waste solutions. Patrick’s commitment to sustainable e-waste disposal is at the core of the work he does.
Patrick seeks out new opportunities to improve electronic recycling infrastructure within Aotearoa New Zealand. In 2020, Computer Recycling received $1.5 million worth of funding from the Ministry for the Environment’s Waste Minimisation Fund.
When Patrick purchased the company in 2018, it had nine employees and under $1 million in turnover. Computer Recycling is now the largest e-waste recycler in Aotearoa New Zealand. Under Patrick’s guidance, the business has seen a 436% increase in revenue and it can now process 2 million kg of e-waste per year.
Patrick is passionate about educating Kiwis about sustainable e-waste recycling methods. He raises awareness of Aotearoa New Zealand's growing e-waste problem through speaking on television, radio and featuring in print media interviews.
